Student Leadership and Development

Student Leadership & Development and The Lionel H. Newsom Leadership Institute, located in the Ward University Center, First Floor, promotes leadership and service learning to Central State University students. When first year students are selected for the Newsom Leadership Institute they will be participants in a specialized training and development curriculum designed to assist students in their growth as campus and future leaders. Students will gain opportunities to do research in leadership theories, attend lectures conducted by civic leaders, interface with students leaders from other campuses and travel to leadership seminars and conferences. Additionally, all CSU students will also be able to develop their personal leadership skills as Marauder Leaders through the various workshops, seminars, and service learning opportunities available through Student Leadership & Development.
